Algae

Underwater Plants

Floating Plants
Varying in sizes, floating plants have no attachments under water. Their roots are floating in the water themselves and if you’re patient enough, you might want to pick them off the surface one by one. Of course, the plants would automatically grow back up again so this is actually a temporary respite, hence making the use of an aquatic weed killer necessary.
Emergent Plants
Unlike the underwater plants, these weed type have strong stalks and can be usually found in the shoreline. They are rooted with leaves that break through the surface of the water.

As mentioned previously, the type of aquatic weed killer would depend on the plant you want to get rid of or rather, the application. More often than not, the liquid is applied by directly pouring drops along the water surface. A specific surface area is targeted per stated amount of weed killer to get the best results while maintaining animal life in the liquid environment.

Depending on the brand, weed killers would have varying instructions at the container. More often than not, it prevents users from making use of the water for domestic purposed after treatment has been done. Of course, be sure to read labels before opting to apply anything on your pond so as to make sure that it won’t harm the aquatic life that you want kept safe. For best results, the aquatic weed killer should be applied during late season or when the weeds are at a low point in the cycle.
